I always focus on creating an emotional connection between users and products. Simplicity is the key to good, usable design. I love the process and love to motivate designers and teams even more.
I started out as a print designer. I was obsessed with typography and the process of creating logos. That soon transitioned into website design. I designed my first full website in 2004 and I was hooked. The challenge of making an experience usable and beautiful is a delicate balance. That very challenge is what keeps me motivated. It’s amazing to see technology change and evolve so quickly, yet user experience remains at the core of everything.
Now I spend my days designing experiences on mobile platforms. I’ll occasionally get to dust off my branding chops, but it’s more about fostering talent in younger designers now.
I currently am the design manager for IBM’s Mobile Innovation Lab in Austin, Texas. I work with some of the best and brightest young designers from across the country. We create new and exciting experiences that are pushing the boundaries of what it means to be mobile first.
I am always interested in new and exciting projects to work on. Send me and note and say hi. Let’s make something amazing together!
